Sounds like a weight loss cruise. Most people gain weight on cruises, so this might be just a new marketing angle.

We were on that same ship at the end of October.. It's a huge ship, lots of people, but it never really felt crowded. We've been fortunate to never gotten hit by any of those bugs while on a cruise.
The staff was always pushing washing your hands, and they had Purrell dispensers heading into all the food locations, but it still happens. |

We have been on several cruises (going on a 8 day Alaskan cruise in May) and several long plane rides to S.E. Asia. We accept the fact that we could get sick being with a bunch of people for long period of time.

When I lived in Silicon Valley I got the flu two or three times every year. I moved to a small town 28 years ago and I have had the flu twice during those years.
The fact is, in Silicon Valley if you go anywhere people are that is crowded, you are probably around people who were in six different countries yesterday. |

After getting food poisoning while in Asia I got a prescription for cipro and carry it whenever I travel. It's a good investment for anyone who travels.

People getting sick all the time on these modern, “relatively clean” ships. It really makes you wonder just how bad it was in the days of the old sailing ships where people slept below decks with rats and feces, and they either pooped in chamber pots or off the bow spirits, and they wiped with pieces of rope, never washing or showering. I don’t think the sailors on those old ships were excused from work just because they were puking or had diarrhea.
