I've stayed with sprint mostly due to the unlimited Data and have been pretty lucky with them. I was waiting to upgrade my old Galaxy Epic 4G Wimax phone until Columbus got switched over to 4G LTE. Best Buy had a black friday special that had a free upgrade to the Galaxy S4. I couldn't pass that up so I went ahead and did it figuring I'd be living with 3G for a while. Ironically, a tower near my house has already been converted to 4G LTE.

Hope you have good luck getting it worked out. Like others have said, check with them first to see if it's a phone issue. If it doesn't work, then cancel it. You do have the 14 days.

It's not how many towers but who has the better and most upgraded towers.
In my area the major carrier has twice as many towers but their signal sucks because it keeps bouncing around. The carrier I should have went with has less towers but they are all updated and state of the art.
If you have internet at the shop you should be connecting to that wirelessly anyways.

As other have said, Sprint's coverage is notoriously shitty outside of a major city. (and Pensacola isn't a major city)

You should be able to return it and cancel your contract w/o issue. My sister lives in a very rural area and went through 4 phones/carriers before finding one that actually worked in her house. It's not uncommon at all.


I agree with you. I have had every service provider in the past and none of them worked as well as Verizon in south Fl. but they are the most expensive provider.

I don't know if Sprint works the same way, but with VZW, you dial a number and update your PRL (preferred roaming list) and that may be all RED needs to do.

Agreed except I wouldn't touch Verizon with a dead donkeys shlong.
Very close friend has been with their customer svc call center for 15+ years and she told me to switch out years ago because even she couldn't help me.

Good coverage is the only benefit I ever got with Verizon. Maybe it's different by area, but virtually everyone I know in the NJ/NY metro area refuse to deal with them and have gone to AT&T or even T Mobile

My experience with their customer service is the same. They REALLY REALLY suck donkey dick, but at the end of the day, I need their network, especially with my grandfather'd unlimited 4G phone/hotspot.

Yeah, I remember you being in that camp. Damn good reason to stay put.

I doubt I use more than 1G of data/month; nothing really. I just don't want to switch out and wish I hadn't somewhere down the road.

I remember having a company package with them and they were charging me $240 for just my line and this was a good 8 years ago.

Now that I'm home full time, working out of the house for my company, I don't use as much data, but I will never give that plan up. Our 10 days in Vegas will put it to good use.
