Figures. However, we are going to be playing this at our AutoX 101 classes. In fact, I have 4K worth of timing equipment at my feet right now.

I've sent this link to my club president to make it a link on our site. It never got done. This is a great reminder to have him do it.

Yea, I've lobbied my club to get off their fat ass and put up or shut up. We bought our own timing equipment and have 8 AutoX events planned. I enjoy AutoX as much as Road Racing. Both need a certain set of skills. One thing I have lobbied for and won is a AutoX 101 class PRIOR to the actual autoX. I love getting the next gen kids involved.

With all of the drama that came with cone man and Lander, maybe I should build a composite of both. I had the little running cone dude for quite awhile too. Ironically, Lander and I are pretty tight now.

Nah-I'll be driving my car. Besides AutoX I have a pretty ambitious schedule. Watkins Glenn in April, VIR in May and July, and possibly Road Atlanta in August.

We hold autocross events 10 months per year on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is competition day and Saturday is a test-n-tune session on half of the airstrip for the regulars to dial in their cars. (track stays the same for 1-2 years) We also have a free novice school on the other half of the airstrip. I am the lead instructor now and we typically have 15-20 students on every Saturday. Getting them to come on Sundays is the toughest part, but they do get a lot of seat time on Saturdays.

I'm not sure why, but rides in my Z are typically in very high demand at the school.

What we do is charge $10 for the novice class and then they get $10 off for the next day autoX. So far we have 100% participation using that.

Plus we show them the trophies/stuff they can win in their class.

I love road course racing, but I still have too much to prove to myself in autocross. I've exhausted the local/regional/state talent in Super Stock. I'm going to give it another year or so to see how I rate on the National level after several "almost" trophies.

I won't put the Z on a road course with any seriousness until I get the ZR1 in the garage. I'm not quite ready to write off a car that cost me $76K cash just yet.

That being said, I think I will try an HPDE event this year, likely Sebring.

Dude-there are insurance agents that will write policies for you. We are in negotiations right now with an agent for a years HPDE event policy. I'll let you know.BTW-Once you hit 140+ on the back straight and pass that one mofo in front of you you'll be hooked on HPDEs.
