Default Identify this Brass Casing
Found along the shore in a part of the UK that was German occupied during WWII

Anyone have an idea what it's from?

The left end is lined up with 0". Tried to get straight-on for the length.

Are you positive that it is brass? Looks pretty rough to be made of brass.

Could have been in the sea for over 70 years and has coral or something growing on it. Beats me what it's made of

My closest to hand loading manual shows an overall case length of 2.222" for the 303 British. Given that the length is practically dead on and the rim, I'm thinking that's what it is.

I think it might be steel or other metal type casing...I've pulled 150 yr. old brass out of the ground and it doesn't corrode. It has the green patina like this, but not the corrosion.
