Sorry, I'm just now catching up on this. Work has been nuts with us coordinating C-130s to get supplies and people down there. I should have 4 of my Hercs on the ground right now.
I'll be sending some money along shortly to help with the cause. Other than funds, do you need me to see if I can get some items loaded if send a 5 aircraft down? |

I noticed today a huge helicopter that looked like US Coast Guard Colors, not sure where it was from... but it had long cables to a net and it was dropping supplies somewhere near here. Not sure if one of the remote hard to get to places here on our island, or one of the other small islands nearby. We have had trucks coming into our village almost daily with food supplies for the poor, but they seem to be slowing down now. Lots of foreigners from a lot of different countries here helping out also. I can't think of anything you could send down really, unless you guys have a spare surplus generator. Our water is on now so we have safe drinking water again. |

I already had the lumber delivered for one 8X10 hut, but having trouble getting the Amakan (woven bamboo used for siding) and Nipa (for roofing)
We can go with plywood for the siding but will cost more and I am trying to stretch things as far as I can to help as many as we can with the funds we have. Thin steel roofing is also an option if we cant get Nipa, but I do have Nipa ordered so will wait and hope it comes in. Trying to get a start on the huts we will be building and I found a saw guy to start cutting for us. (hard to come by as they are very busy now) Also worked out a deal to buy some coconut trees, some standing but falling, and others already down. It saves money over buying from the hardware store, and I ordered enough lumber for 3 huts 10X12 foot. I still do not know what the exact cost will be per hut, but will after we get one finished. but guessing abut $300 US each. Tomorrow I will be picking out the logs and trees we use and working on getting the lumber delivered. I will get more photos tomorrow. |

Let me know what size generator you need. I'll see what I can find and may just send it direct. Are there any shipping companies that are up and running? |

Tim already stated that they need a 15 kW generator to run the well pumping equipment. If you could find and supply something along the line of a PU-406/M Tactical Quiet Generator it would supply 30 kW so they could (a) power the pump and (b) have sufficient additional power to provide juice to the majority of the city. A MEP-805A generator would also provide this level of power.
The only problem is that it, like virtually all other military gensets of this size are diesel powered and not a multi-fuel capable one. |

They have a generator now for the water supply, and it has been back on now for about a week.
I wish now I was hooked up to it, we use our own well water for washing, bathing, and cleaning. But with no electric here it's back to the bucket and rope... one at a time.. There are a few guys working behind the scenes trying to help us get a personal generator as it is going to be a long time before the electric is back they say. |

They started cutting on 16 trees today that we bought so far. should be enough for 6 or 7 more huts. so shooting for 8 huts to build now.
Also bought enough Amakan for two huts today, they say they will reserve for me enough for next week. |
