Question about Trump

How does this type of video help Trump to beat DeSantis assuming DeSantis decides to run?

I can't come up with a realistic way that praising a democrat that DeSantis just beat by 20 points helps Trump in any way.

What am I missing?

Maybe Trump has the same concern I do? That DeSantis will turn out to be another Crenshaw. I don't dislike DeSantis and would eagerly vote for him for President if he was the Republican choice.

I think Trump treats opponents like boxers do. Trash talk them and push their buttons. It's a strategy. Not one I agree with, but it is a strategy.

I get all the comments already posted and agree with most of them.

But, nobody has provided any good ways that videos like this latest one help him beat DeSantis? Does Trump think these things will convince DeSantis supporters to switch to him instead? If so, is this a good way to do that?

I could see that hardcore Trump supporters will love this latest video, but he's already got them in his corner.

I will just come out and say it.....this bashing of DeSantis by Trump is not only NOT helpful it's really an unforced error. It's not a good look. People like Trump because he has a habit of "punching back" against people who attack him first. This is not that at all.

DeSantis is objectively doing a good job for Florida, coincidentally, Trump's home state now. If DeSantis declares his candidacy, at some point, they're going to have to criticize each other, but until that time, don't attack one of the few pols that more or less reflect your own policies and values. DeSantis not punching back makes DeSantis look even better, compared to petulant Trump continuing to try and pick a fight.

I still support Trump, but freely admit this, attacking DeSantis out of the blue, is bad for him.....it makes him look petty. I mean, for all the people who attacked Trump he could go after, DeSantis is NOT one of those. Plenty of other folks to go after.

See how bad things are now in America? Imagine how much worse it will be in another year and a half. At that time, I expect a significant amount of the MSM indoctrinated "Orange Man Bad" voters to come out from under the ether and understand that their lives were objectively better under Trump, even if they found him personally repulsive.

The Trump ads really write themselves....simply show objective differences between the two administrations, and simply show all the lies the MSM/deep state/DNC/RNC etc., promulgated on us, that we now know were lies....like the 51 intelligence officials AND Resident Biden who all told us to our faces that the Hunter laptop was fake Russian disinformation, and that's before we get to all the obvious lies about the Wu flu, from where it came, how it came, how deadly it actually was, all the changing narratives (lies) about the vaccines, etc. Point out that all those gullible people who thought Brandon was going to pay off their student loans got shafted. They had their votes bought, and they didn't even get the payoff. That might not make them vote for Trump, but hopefully it will make those disillusioned folks apathetic enough to just smoke weed on voting day and not vote at all.

I think things will be so bad that a section of middle America will be questioning the narrative they've been fed about a lot of things, and once someone figures out they've been lied to about one thing, hopefully they start questioning other things, too.

Will that be enough to overcome the swing state cheating?

There is most likely a LOT about this we don't know. There is no telling if there is bad blood regarding taxing or licenses or permits at MarLago (sp?). There is no telling what Trump learned of him while President. This could be intimidation for a debate at some point in the future. I have learned that where Trump is concerned, he can make crazy statements that end up being pretty close to accurate as time passes.

While I believe Trump will win the 2024 R nomination again, I don't think this early attack on DeSantis helps anything. As stated, it makes Trump look worse. Having said that, here's the simple reason the combined MSM/Hollywood/DNC/RNC/woke corporate America, etc., can't break Trump's supporters.
