I remember how to fix 8-track tapes. You actually had to take the case apart.

There was no worse sound in the world than the sound of one of your cassette's being eaten by your cassette player.

For real. Then you hold the tape and whip it at people again and again in anger.

you never wanted to use scotch tape to fix any recording tape, not audio and certainly not video....

I remember we used some translucent white tape, no doubt by 3M also....

the goo on it would not slip and run in heat....

I had a little flat blade screw driver specially modified to move those locking tabs to separate the case and a repair kit with the spring loaded feet that held the ends of the tape in place while using a razor blade to make the diagonal cut. Even had a roll of the adhesive foil tape. As a matter of fact, I still have a box of those 8-track tapes and a stereo to play them in.

Radio stations use a similar cartridge or "cart" which was a tape loop for commercials.

I think 8 track tapes were the best invention EVAR!

the music never stops...perfect for late night stoner parties.

LZ IV and Floyd DSoTM were excellent in this endeavour

It was easier to roll joints on 33 rpm album covers, though.
