Wow, thanks for sharing this. Seems a sad but realistic state of economic affairs and space science in Puerto Rico. I remember articles upon articles in the 60’s and through the 80’s/early 90’s about the site being on the world’s cutting edge of earth-based space exploration. Doesn’t seem possible that it reached such a dire state of repair!

A different video showed point of failure was where it attached to a mount, wire rope wrapped back on itself. Not sure if the clamps (if had any failed) or if the rope just unwound.
