We have 50 acres MOL and we are paying less than $700. But, we live out in the county. We just got an offer on our place and if all goes well we will be moving closer to OKC. I expect to pay double or triple that in taxes there.

I wouldn't exactly recommend Oklahoma to anyone but the economy here isn't bad with the oil industry we have here. It's not the worst place to live.

Then you can buy seasons tickets to the Oklahoma City Barons who are the
new AHL affiliate to my beloved NHL Edmonton Oilers, whom BTW are in first place

COOL, what's a AHL!! J/K I don't do sports enough to get seasons tickets to anything. I have been to one or two hockey games here. I always enjoy myself when there but it takes a lot to get to go and usually involves free tickets.

I only found this out a few months ago. There were a group of people sitting in front of me with these OCB jerseys on, but were cheering for the Oilers (good thing) . Turns out they were all from OKC and were enjoying their first NHL game ever. They also drank a boat load of beer, my kinda of fans

He did the manual labor for the concrete guys and called himself a concrete expert. It takes brain power to know how to bend-over and pick up a hunk of concrete and put it in a wheel barrow.

I had no idea that an OKC sports team would be tied to a Canadian team. I would be suspect of the OKC world travelers but the beer drinking sounds legitimate.

Damn, I'm pissed. We are trying to sell our place and move closer to OKC. We haven't recieved a lot of offers because not everyone is looking for that much acreage. We did get a very lowball offer on Saturday which we countered with our absolute bottom price. It was verbally accepted yesterday morning. We were waiting for the phone call to go and sign the offer but instead we get a call that the buyers backed out saying they can afford it. Since it was just verbal so far there wasn't any earnest money but that's not the deal. Why make a offer on a place if you can't afford it.

Sorry for blowing off steam.

Going through the same thing with my sons condo Bill. The real estate lady phoned my son with some lowball offer, so my son turns to me still holding the phone and says what do you think? I reply, "Tell them to go f&^k themselves" not knowing they were sitting there on the other end on a speaker phone. Got my point across anyways

I've gotten quite good at it since I deal with miners and rig pigs all day
But if had me as your union negotiator, well let's just say you boys would be absolutely, positively, unanimously screwed

That's what we should have said to the guy My wife allowed herself to get all excited before the deal was done and now she is taking in hard. Ironically, I asked our realtor at the beginning if he thought the reason they shot such a lowball offer was because that was in price range. He said that it's becoming more common for buyers to make a ridiculas offer in hopes that the seller is in a hardship and needs to move quickly.

Well the US economy the way it is, I would expect a lot more of this to happen. Hell, like I said it still happens here. I guess you can't really blame people for trying, I mean you never know the sellers situation. Don't let it bother you Bill, you'll sell it sooner or later
