Wow!
It looks like it's eight foot long overall?
Is that lattice work on the back for materials stowage?
From the pics it looks like Mrs DAB has her own gal-cave room?
And what did you do with the old one?

craft center is 86" long, or 7'-2". plenty long for what she wanted.

yes. had some leftover lattice, so it holds sheet goods, like poster board and matte board.

we call it the Studio, it used to be a garage that got converted before we bought the place. about 20x20, so lots of room to do stuffs.


And what did you do with the old one?

the old sewing center (there was no craft center, just an old door on saw horses) was taken apart and tossed. it was cobbled together from old dresser parts and only had 5 drawers. now the new one has 8 drawers, including 2 just for spools, and the craft center has 12 drawers, plenty of space for all her crafty stuff.

tops are laminate. smooth, tough, easy to clean (if paint or stain gets spilled), and it won't get scratched when she is cutting fabric on it (like would happen on the dining room table).

and a little bonus project this afternoon: a back scratcher made out of Lacewood, also known as Leopard Wood.

gift for someone, she wanted something "special", and not one from bed/bath/beyond for $6. bet you can't buy one like this anywhere.
