Default Billionaires

Quote:
There are now more billionaires than ever: 2,781 in all, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They’re richer than ever, worth $14.2 trillion in aggregate, up by $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record, also set in 2021.
Just think about that number - 14.2 trillion. Not even close to the US debt.

https://www.forbes.com/billionaires/?ftag=YHF4eb9d17

China has 473 billionaires and India has 200, which set a record for that country.

Bernard Arnault and his family are at number one, with a net worth of $233 billion. Arnault is head of LVMH, a luxury fashion and cosmetics conglomerate in France. The family is usually in the top three of Forbes' wealthiest people in the world lists.

Just goes to show you that the Left attempting to tax them into oblivion isn't going to matter a bit. They will keep spending and stealing until there is no USA left.

Anyone in here on that list??

I know a dood that knows doods on there, he may be one of them, advises most have much higher net worth, these would be those who leverage others' monies.
They care not what others know about them; many would rather not be on the list.

One I see on there is worth 2-3 times listed amount, much of his wealth is not required to be in an US bank, not based on company ownership or shares, just monies deposited.
Many who were in the game in 1980s still have monies in offshore trusts, which evade irs grabhands.

Here the FL winner math:
$1,09B estimated prize today
$1.2B likely by Wednesday drawing
$576M cash prize, based on 48.50% of annuity amount
***AGAIN, FLORIDA amount, no state income taxes
37% stolen by irs
$363M net cash proceeds after irs theft

So, you spend $63M on house, boat and car collection
Leaves you $300M principal to invest
Invest and net 8.00% after taxes
You never touch $300M principal, and have $24M/yr, or $2M/mo, to burn on blow and hookers, and more cars.

I recommend this home, Jack and Michael are your neighbors, in-community golf course, NO CRIME:

Although I did brag that I won the $1.1 billion Mega Millions drawing recently, unfortunately, I only won $4. Actually, I paid $10 for the ticket, so I actually had a net loss of $6, so I won't be making the billionaire's list this week.

I agree with the bolded. Even though I am many orders of magnitude away from that kind of wealth, I don't even want some family members to have any idea what my retirement savings is like. IMO, nothing good can come from other people knowing you have money; even if it is only a few hundred thousand, people have killed for a lot less.

I know a dood, who knows a dood, who is on that list; he also knows others.

One dood, highest one he knows on list, is very low-profile, specifically when in ports of call, he purposely underdresses, never wears jewelry, his wife does same, and tries to only frequent restaurants he has been before; most meals are on his yacht.
He takes these steps, as a business partner of his was kidnapped in south america 20+ years ago.
Dood was held hostage for a few months, the ransom could have been met but family feared they would kill him after receipt.
So, they did not pay, they hired hostage rescue team, they got him, it cost much more than the ransom, but they knew this was the better choice.

I think I heard about that dood-the one with the yacht. I understand it ran aground on a small deserted island years ago, but he and his wife don't dress down much at all...

I do not think that is the dood I am referencing.
His is 225', he could have went much bigger, but I believe he did not purchase based on being able to host a bunch of ingrates, still requires crew of 12.

I know a dood and doodette that have dined on it, said very nice, BUT they said the dood had a better scotch collection than me, which I doubt!!

All relative to our present time. The older folks know when there
were no billionaire's Just millionaires and thats when the average yearly
wage was under 10 thousand. Inflation has caused all of this extra cash.
Next we will have trillionaire's . Calf has a 20 buck a hour starting wage
now. Big money never impressed me to much. I can remember when
homes were less than 15k in nice neighborhoods. I bought my first house
for 40k, I thought I was a big shot. Built a house for 150k and it just went on the market for a million today. Inflation.

Money is way behind FAMILY and health on a proper list of priorities.
The greatest and most cherished memories in life have ZERO to do with money, it is the times spent with those who mean the most to you--which includes your dogs!!

As said, money cannot buy happiness, but it can buy the things that make you happy, so it remains on the lists, but slides down as one gets older.

Did someone say, Scotch collection?
Having descended from a particularly aggressive and rather well respected Clan in Scotland, and having tasted some fine single malt in my day... you have my attention.

Inflation is relentless. When I was a kid, a million dollars was a shit load of money, and any "millionaire" was considered a pretty rich dude. You would need about $8 - $9 million today to match the buying power $1 million had in 1970, so IMO, someone who manages to accumulate $1 million today isn't rich at all, especially if they are hoping to, or expecting to, retire on it in comfort.

Fiscally irresponsible folks I know/have in my family, still get starry eyed over "one million dollars"! These are the scary folks as all they need is my address, and they can look up the "Zestimate" of my house which is about $700k, realize I have lived here for 28 years, assume the house has no mortgage, and conclude that I am some sort of filthy rich guy. That is not reality, but neither are their perceptions of "wealth".
