Me too. As a kid with a 'clock radio' listening to KEZY Am, and then eventually FM...before KMET/KLOS were born, you'd hear Jimi Hendrix, John Denver, Aerosmith and then a Captain & Teneil (sp?) song all in the same 20 minutes.

My youngest loves rock and is self taught on the guitar and drums (not band quality but still has a passion for it). I'm sure he thinks I'm an old fart but, he still gets a kick out of me telling him that I've seen Aerosmith, ZZtop, Rush, Styx, Bad Co., Heart, just to name a few. I never got to see the Stones but I did see Elton John (best way to go out with a girl I liked)

Not too proud to admit it, I've seen John Denver a couple times at Red Rocks Theater in Denver growing up, did a great show. The man was a great song writer and performer, the Metallica crowd won't ever get that.

Of course in my senior year I also saw Kiss, BTO, Chicago, Neil Diamond and Bob Seger. What does that say for my taste in music?

Now....let me preface this by saying I'm a big Pantera fan...clear back to the mid 80's when Dimebag was "Diamond Darrell". But if you ever really want to rile up a Pantera fan that jumped on board circa 1992....remind them that Pantera was a recycled butt rock band. In my experience, 80% of Pantera fans think Cowboys from Hell was the first album. When you tell them it was the fifth...they look confused at first. Then break this out....





I actually won a $100 bet from a co-worker who believed Pantera was the epitome of all heavy metal, and refused to believe that was really Pantera. He swore up and down CFH was the first album....thought the pic was a glammed up tribute band. He walked around in a state of depression for the next week. I don't think it was losing the C-note either.....
