Default My neighbor Might Apply For A Kennel Permit For Rots...

It'll be a cold day in hell before he gets that approved...
Cliffs:
1) He called last night and layed that on me thinking I'd be thrilled.
2) I called all of the neighbors, albeit rural, and they hate the idea
3) We spoke again today, and told him that the neighbors will sign a petition, and some will be at the hearing, including myself, and he will not get the permit.
4) I told him that past practice dictates that it won't be approved. 2 people have attempted it in the past 5 years, and lost, due to neighborhood mobilization.
5)Fuk !, he's a cool dude , and I hate to piss on his parade, but the last thing that we want to hear is a gaggle of rottweilers, barking at all hours.
6) Let's see if he actually files for the kennel permit. As of today, he hasn't.

I would much rather have a gaggle of Rotts in the 'hood, than some other breeds..
What if he wanted to start a kennel for Shiz tzu's or something. I think they would be far more noisy than Rotts.

They are typically not big barkers. They are a great breed. If he has a passion for the breed - it will not be a puppy mill. Good Rotty owners want to produce the closest to perfection that they can for the breed - it is typically about the breed and not the money. They will typically talk in great length with the future prospective owners, or require a referral before selling one of their pups.

Not to say there are not bad Rotty breeders out there. In my humble opinion - and some would say biased - I would actually talk to the potential breeder before signing a petition against him. Good luck.

Just make yourself a spud gun, then carefully doctor up some cheap ground meat with poison. Make the ground meat into ball that will fit down the barrel of the spud gun.
Freeze the meat balls, when frozen or at least very firm, load up gun and "mortar" the inside of the kennel.
Dogs will go away.

I love dogs. It was meant to be satirical and overstated, sort of like his reaction to having the dogs down the street.
Poisoning the dogs while distasteful and criminal behavior, it would cure the problem of them being in the neighborhood. The ideal solution would be to go over to the neighbors house and kick him in the sack until he pukes up his balls. Then when his balls are dangling out of his mouth smash them until they look like pate.
However doing that would end up with him being in jail, which would probably mean that he'd end up some big dudes wife and have a perpetual case of Skiarhoids and callouses on his knees.

I think the thing to do is to follow a non-confrontational stance and use pressure from the rest of the neighbors and legal restrictions take their course. Reacting to it with hysteria is sort of womanish. Just be up front with the guy and tell him that it isn't going to happen then change the subject and move on.

I spoke with him again last night. He just wants four dogs, and three is the limit....I said just keep your mouth shut and I won't say anything if you don't, but he registered the 4 dogs at town hall... How the hell did they let him do that, when only 3 are allowed ? Anyway, I just told him that the neighbors will sign a petition, if it comes to a hearing, and myself, and 2 others will attend, and be against it... I reiterated the fact that the last 2 attempts at a kennel permit were turned down, so his chances will be very slim in getting one.....
Let's see...He has 3 females, and one male....Just wants 4 dogs my ass.....
Your suggestions are comical...He, and all my neighbors are all well armed, so shooting will turn out badly.... Poisoning the dogs....Naaaa....
So we will just go the civil route, if it actually does happen.

If I wanted to live next door to a commercial enterprise, I'd put a tent up in the parking lot of Cowboys Stadium.

Your neighbor just devalued your property by at least 30%.

4 dogs become 8, 8 becomes 12, and next thing you know he's "grandfathered" in.

We need that nut with the cat in the condo to give an opinion.

Exactly, except for one thing....He hasn't got the permit, and I'm 85% sure he won't get it, so my property value is still ok.
