Default .22 Plinking With The Papoose

Did a little plinking at a new range the other day, thought I'd try out the Marlin Papoose given to me as a gift.

At 75' and no scope, I could probably do better, but the eyesight and dexterity has diminished a bit.

This new range has all the new whistles and bells regarding high tech target shooting, my favorite, a camera on your target with a monitor located in the booth so you don't have to run the cable back & forth.

Another fun .22 LR / MAG Heritage Arms

For as inexpensive as it is, it has a great trigger and is quite accurate.

I recently shot an old Remington Nylon 66 at 80 yards with iron sights. Targets were baseball sized metal plates. I missed about 3 shots out of 50. With my CZ .22 with a scope, I can hit a dime at 80 yards consistently, but with a bench rest. The groups are basically clover-leafs.

As GTO said that’s pistol distance.
Norm's rifle has no forearm ( look at the top pic).

How old are you compared to Norm?

You are obviously an alpha male, indefatigable, impervious to injury and absolutely full of shit. Almost all of the rest of us here are simply human and subject to the ravages of time and injuries suffered in our youth. Do us all a favor and spread your seed elsewhere where you might be more appreciated, and less reviled.

I have a 1977 Marlin model 25. Bolt action, ten round mags, and at fifty yards will stay in a very tight group easily. I will have that one forever. Added a scope a few months ago but haven't sighted it in yet.

I feel ya. It's why I began training to instinct shoot with fast fire and large magazines 20'ish years ago. Was pretty sure one of those bullets would put a hole in the target. Wasn't wrong, in fact it enabled me to maintain tight groups. Just might not be where I want it

Funny how some people brag about how accurate they are ...I would love to see their groups when someone or something is coming at them.

That's not the kind of situation you should want to resolve with a group Mr. Burners. Single headshot for the win

mine has no scope, is semi-auto, and has a tube under the length of the barrel that holds 15 rounds. very accurate out to 100yds, but that's pushing it. I find it harder to shoot these days since I had to get bifocals, though.

Back in the day Marlin had 'micro-groove' rifling in a lot of its rifle barrels. Distorted the bullets less. I shot lots of Marlins that were pre-1980, and all of them were very accurate. The company turned to crap in the 80's until recently, when Ruger took them over. Now they are first rate again.
