Review: Z06 suspension under a coupe
Thursday night Neil and I spent a couple hours putting Z06 sways, springs, and Billstein shocks under my 98 coupe.
After about 20 miles of driving, to let it all settle, I gave it a light workout going around the capitol beltway. Hit a couple turns at triple digits, and it stayed planted firm to the ground. Body roll is nill, as it turns flat now. Yesterday I took and had a Z06 spec alignment done. Talk about turn in! Point the nose, and it goes right there. Anyone with a coupe looking to get some better handling, without going full coilovers route, you can't go wrong with this setup!

I'll let you take it for a run tomorrow, see how you think it compares to your Z. Video camera will be in tow.

I'll be working on the suspension this winter. I already have the C6Z51 bars and endlinks on. Now I need some shocks and a few turns on the bolt to close the gap. Oh and an alignment.

I put the C6Z51 sways on my 2000 coupe this past spring and am pleased with the perfromance now. Definitely feels a little more planted in the turns!

I have Bilstein HDs, and have been considering swapping out all other parts for Z parts. This makes it sound definitely worth it.

Did you use the Bilstein bushings or reuse the OEM ones!

I have Z06 springs and bars w/ Koni FSDs on the vert... it's a nice setup while still being DDable. I have to say the base suspension was very very nice on the crappy roads we have around here, but I just couldn't own a Vette that felt sloppy in the turns.
Just adding the Z06 bars killed the base car's cushy feel over road inperfections.
