The split window coupe was the sexiest car ever built, by any automaker, period.

The C5 is a timeless design, has all the curves in all the right places. This car will look good 50 years from now.

The regular C6 is meh, at best. The Z06 and Grand Sport variants are a huge improvement, looks wise.

The C7 design is already dated.

The C8 is an incredible design, but will it stand the test of time, in the looks department? I believe it will.

Some hillbilly at the gas station tonight went out of his way to tell me his daughter was turned around in her seat staring at my car. Think maybe he was trying to hook me up?

You almost got in trouble. Watch it!

Agree! The C8 is one beautiful machine!

Sorry Gene, I don't believe the Corvette moniker will ever die, just too much of a following. I know of one well known Corvette salesman that has a 1,100 name stand-by list for the C8 Z06.

No, corporate greed is why. Corporate CEOs saw that they could produce and/or purchase chips made by slave labor in Chinese factories for less money, so they closed down all the American manufacturing and made us completely dependent on China. And somehow we are surprised when China acts in its own self-interest when it comes to supplying products to the rest of the world.

Make no mistake: we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

OLD ET here, so a few decades ago, a chip costs maybe 5 bux to the Dealer/svc dept, and so to exchange the entire car computer for maybe 200 bux........and that WAS all made here.....I have four GM 1227730 speed density computers for my home made injection on my '72 350 vette.....I change them out every few months to keep the electronics alive.....chips/modules are by guys like Alvin Anderson/etc.....

Heck if I know. Only gave his vehicle a split second glance to see if there was a person in it (there was). Not taking my eyes off of that guy any longer than that... I was hearing banjo music.

The late C4s are nice, early C3s are nice, C1 and C2 go without saying. The C5 has aged well, the sleek curves are simple, elegant...its very slippery. The C6 base is...forgettable, you saw them everywhere for so long, the GS/Z was a healthy improvement. C7 is bland in looks, and the LT isnt aging well. C8...its not my taste in looks, too msny sharp edges and vents, its too busy.

Nope. Sharky and C6. Had a C8 at the HoA picnic today, but it was in white, so no comment. Guy didn't bring his red/white 60, but it is pretty cool.

I've seen Frankenvette in person and it was longer than 4 years ago. J.R. remembered it being green, too, but definitely a Macco job

Time to bury that and go for a C8, or would you rather we turn back the clocks and discuss this over a party line?

Somewhere out there, a baby NCRS judge is softly weeping.

Having said that, don't feel bad, Gene. I committed unpardonable sin once, too. I had an Olds that came new with hubcaps, and I bought a set of take off factory honeycombs for it, like this (not my car):

Of course, they were correct for the year and model, so there's that. We did the same thing with a couple of work trucks.....bought correct factory take offs of the top line wheels to replace the stock steel wheels.
