2nd cousins are ok, 1st cousins once removed are ok too.

A 1st cousin once removed is the child of a first cousin.

A 2nd cousin share a set of great-grandparents

Hell I think in Oklahomo you have to prove kinship to get married! Isn't it that way in Louisiana too?

I did get some from a 2nd cousin, but I did not know she was my cousin when the deed was done. I did not find out till the next day.

Found out after we'd been married eight years that my first wife's maternal grandfather had a child with my maternal grandmother's niece. we're related somehow, but I don't know how it'd be.

Scissors should be along shortly. A few years ago he pulled out a gene study which shows even first cousins are no big deal. It takes generations of concentrated consanguinity to end up with interbreeding-related health issues.

For what it's worth... in Tennessee, first cousins are legal. Unfortunately for me, all of my first cousins are 20 years younger than me... so age, not blood...
