Just because you have bought into the "end of the world" scenario doesn't change the realities of the supply chain of consumer goods. You might want to think about this: when the crazies clean out the store shelves before a snow storm, what happens? |

Serious question....should I have a month of two of food on hand? I’m used to dealing with tornadoes, ice storms or snow. When the weather is bad, I have a week or two of groceries, extra fuel, and gas grill ready. I know if power is out here for a week I can just drive to another area not affected.

I can and freeze vegetables from our garden every summer. I know how to bake bread, etc. I don’t have a lot of beef or chicken in the freezer. I’m not one to panic but I like to be prepared. I think I’ll stock up on meat and a few things.

I really don’t want to count on the dog. He’s just recently recovered from two surgeries. Now the cows at my nieces and the deer in my yard are fair game.

It is wiser to prep for what you think is most likely. If we are talking about a "pandemic", what you should be thinking about is "what happens if I am quarantined in my house for 4-6 weeks?" Will the power be on? Will the water service continue? Will the gas pipes be working? Assuming the answer to those last three questions is "yes", most folks won't need to do much prepping. Make sure you have some canned, jarred, and dried foods around your house, most folks have at least a week of that kind of food around every day, I'm sure I have more than 2 weeks worth on the average day without any prepping. I normally have at least a month supply of toilet paper on hand at all times, etc. |

Just got back from BJ's where I picked up a few things. I didn't buy any, but I cruised by the water and TP sections just out of curiosity. Although there were a couple of bays in each area that were empty, they had plenty of water and TP. In fact, it seemed like all the normal choices had at least some stock. I guess the panic has not hit North Jersey yet.

A lot of the overhead shelving was bare, almost looked as if that particular warehouse was fixing to shut its doors. |

Damn, scary news today.
John Travolta was admitted to the hospital for treatment 2 days ago with what they suspected was Corona Virus. Diagnostic tests back and discovered it was just Saturday Night Fever. |

Shouldn't you be pounding energy drinks and chasing the little ones or something... Or is it benadryl in a sippy cup nap time?
