we've had 46 straight days of over 100 degrees here in Wichita Falls. If you wondering where that is, look at the map and then north of Dallas where that really hot spot is. we tend to be 7-8 degrees hotter than the metroplex...

Yep, I was living in Orlando at the time and had to fly to San Antonio via Dallas on good ole Braniff. It was in the 90's in Fla when I left and, arriving at DFW, the Captian announced that it was 113F, but the good news was that it was only 107 in San Antone.

Like I said, 1980 would have been far more interesting if they also had record blizzards, record cold, and severe "50-year" tornado outbreaks in the same year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in November (which is when tornado activity peaks in the fall).
