Default 2001 C5 Brake Booster vacuum hose is hot!

I bought a 2001 C5 in August of this year. The very first time I took it for a test drive, there was a smell of hot rubber. Thought it might have been a tire rubbing, but the clearance on all 4 tires was OK. Started troubleshooting recently to see if I could find the source of the smell. The only thing I could find was the brake booster vacuum hose seems to be hotter than any hose I have ever felt before. Haven't experienced any braking issues so far. I'm thinking this might be the source of the smell. Has anyone experienced this issue or does anyone have any suggestions of what could be causing the hose to be excessively hot? RBlack

The brake booster hose runs from vacuum off the engine. I can't imagine what would make it so hot.
Check the clearance between the hose and the exhaust manifold. That's the only cause I can think of.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

Thanks Sneaks. I will check the clearance to see if the hose is touching or too close to the exhaust.
