I went to Mardi Gras in Nawlins a couple years back. For me it was like Vegas. I experienced it once and I'm good. I enjoyed it, but not enough to do it again.

I did learn something I never knew. The people throwing beads have to buy their own stuff to throw. Some go all out, some go cheap.
