Strange day

St. John's dad died yesterday. Luigi was 88. Native of Sicily. He survived his beautiful wife- very romantic story about how he courted her.

Mike took advantage of the warm weather yesterday and painted my Fiat Spider project. He proudly emailed me some pictures of the "blue mirror".

I planned to trailer the car on Tuesday, so reserved a UHaul. Then I found out Luigi's funeral is on the same day. Only a few towns away.

Gentle Reader,

Both gentlemen have been mentioned at Barney Fife's site, of which many members here have graduated from.

John befriended two sisters, patients of his when he was an intern in Brooklyn, NY in the early 90's. When he moved to NC he kept up with his two "deputy moms". The elder sister died leaving the younger one as the sole surviving member of her family, so John and his wife took the old gal in to live with them. Thus the moniker "St. John".

Mike took over a restoration shop that I had briefly owned several years ago.

I know a couple of people who will start telling a story in the middle, and even after explaining this problem of omitted details to them, they usually still don’t grasp what the issue is and just carry on without clarifying anything. I always figured the story they imagine they’re telling just doesn’t match what is actually coming out of their mouth.
