He nearly always put his subtle spin on his cars. In this case he removed the front bumpers and it does look much cooler. Judging by the year and his haircut that's probably the script for 'The Sand Pebbles' he's holding.

Those cars look cool with the bumpers removed. I have also seen them with the little corner lights shaved off.

I'm not a fan of that particular hood.

I might find a way to shave off those lights and relocate turn signals to fill the gaps in the grille somehow.

I think that grill is available without the cutouts.

I know the current owner of the Steve McQueen Corvette.
Lars, I'm familiar with a C2 grills and have never seen one without the bumper bracket cutouts. By chance do you know or recall where you saw them?

Many years ago as youngster I used to wonder who was cooler Steve McQueen or Paul Newman.

After the move "On Any Sunday" was released at local theaters, I decided McQueen was the "King Of Cool"!
