Default Here's what I got at the gun show.

These are stock photos as I have yet to upload the pictures of the specific ones I purchased, but:

Smith and Wesson Military and Police 15x

To which I mounted a forward grip and an EOTech EXPS3-2:

...which has this reticle (1 MOA dots with 65 MOA circle):

Plus, I also picked up a Polish AK-47 with folding stock:

Plus 500 rounds of ammo each and some PMags for the AR. The AK came with three magazines.

How were prices? I know things went crazy in '09, but have they come down from there? Ammo was pretty ridiculous then as well.

Very nice toys. That EOTech is the sweetness, what do they go for like 600 bones?

The EOTech was $550, the AR was $1,119, and the AK was $550. I picked up 5.56mm ammo at $160 for 500 rounds (Winchester), and 7.62mm for $100 for 500 rounds (Wolf).

I either head over to the parents' farm in MD , or go to the NRA range.

The only guns I've ever owned/held/fired are shotguns and simple rifles.

I've never actually taken a gun apart.

How hard are AR-15s to handle, modify, etc. for someone like me? I was good with the Lego's as a child, but typically I'm mechanically incompetent.

I got so spoiled with outdoor ranges in CO, I lost interest when I moved back here.

It took me a few minutes and some browsing of the manual to re-remember field stripping the AR, as I'd been the second fastest at doing so 15 years ago in Boot Camp with the M-16.

The AK, on the other hand, is the easiest weapon in the world to field strip. If you can unhook a bra, you can field strip an AK.

Just do not try and pull the hammer and then replace. What a PITA.

I had the Hammer on my Saiga reworked. Banged up the fingers a little getting it back in.

That looks like one I saw yesterday at a local place. The gun guy was putting a scope on it for a customer. It could be 2 completely different guns seeing as I have basically zero experience with them.

Looks cool, I wonder what Old Kenmore would look like after crossing you.

Post so pics

Can you strip and AK with your right thumb and index finger?

That's the exact AR I bought in 08 just before the elections. I paid virtually the same price you did. I would have thought the prices would have come down a bit by now. Good prices on the ammo.
