Burgled Pa. Tattoo Shop Offers Body Art for Info

BERWICK, Pa. November 22, 2013

The owner of a Pennsylvania tattoo shop that was broken into is putting up an unusual reward for information leading to arrests — free tattoos and piercings for life.

Brandon George of Permanently Scarred Tattoos in Berwick posted the offer on his Facebook page after he found the door kicked in Thursday morning and a TV and other gear stolen.

He told The Press Enterprise of Bloomsburg that the break-in cost him several thousand dollars.

George says he thinks more than one person was involved because it would take several people to move his 70-inch TV and other equipment.

As for the tattoo and piercing offer, he says, "I'd do that in a heartbeat. That offer is good."

Marking the thief doesn't do anything against his past life. It's his future life that could potentially be screwed up by labeling him in this manner.

Have you ever considered the case that he could reform? It does happen. I've got a tenant that works his ass off detailing cars six days a week in front of his house. He did fifteen years... got out ten years ago. He's been completely out of trouble since his release.

I can't imagine what he'd be doing if he had been branded with THIEF on both hands. I doubt it would be legal.

I do like the ass-kicking idea.

"I Sing the Body Electric" is a poem by Walt Whitman from his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass.

Its original publication, like the other poems in Leaves of Grass, did not have a title. In fact, the line "I sing the body electric" was not added until the 1867 edition. At the time, "electric" was not yet a commonly used term.

In 1969, author Ray Bradbury published I Sing the Body Electric, a science fiction anthology named after the poem and including a short story by the same title. The short story was based on a 1962 Twilight Zone episode that Bradbury had also written.
