Default For this Sunday's football party...

Here's what I have so far. Two big pork butts and/or shoulder (not really 100% sure actually) and a brisket flat. I like to let these big hunks sit over night in the garage fridge, rubbed down good and uncovered, to kind of dry out the very outside of the meat so we get a good smoke ring.

Tomorrow I'll set up the Primo for a nice 24 hour smoke at 225.

Phase 2: On the Primo. Have it dialed in to 225 for a low and slow cook.

Well, they smoked all night long, monitored by the CyberQ, and are almost done. Brisket is at about 188, pork butt at 181. Last night around 7 PM they were both at about 166. So they went from 45 when I put them in to 166 (121 degree rise) in about 7 hours and it's taken them another 12 go get from 166 to the mid-80's (20 degree rise...) That's BBQ.

And the finished product: Pulled pork

Brisket

And the awesome coconut creme pie that I started to eat on and remembered to get a picture.

Looks good, but get in modern upscale world of smokers.
Big Green eggs rocks.
Stoker computer control is the leader with many options
Cheaper does good job, but why settle for less if you can afford

You surely are kidding, right?

I have a Primo ceramic smoker with a CyberQ controller. I can do anything a BGE with a Stoker can do, plus I can log my cooks on a computer, remotely control the temps, and I could have put extender racks on my grill and it will hold roughly four times what a BGE will hold for a cook. Plus the firebox is bigger so I can cook for up to 30 hours if need be.

For those that don't know, the Primo grill was designed based on BGE owners who wanted a bigger grilling surface. Plus it is American made, right in Austin Texas. I love the BGE's and have used them a number of times and believe me, there's nothing you can do on a BGE that you can't do on a Primo.

One more thing. BGE's are typically cheaper than Primos. Check out the DigiQ/CyberQ controllers from BBQ Guru. Think Stoker has anything on them?

Both are so far beyond my price range that it's not even funny.

Stoker invented computer controlled fires. BBQ Guru playing catch up with its DigiQ/CyberQ
My Xlarge BGE has no problem doing 225 degree smokes for 30 plus hours.
Primo just another copy cat knock off, just like DigiQ controller
But if it works for you Enjoy

Stoker looks like it was made in somebody's garage. Nice that you feel the need to criticize something you don't even know anything about though. I've used both BGE's and Primo's. Have you? Didn't think so.

Took BBQ Guru years to copy Stoker advaced options such as, multi pits, WiFi and computer veiwing.
Time I purchased Stoker few years ago, Guru only did one pit with no computer viewing.
For me, prefer to purchase from inivators instead of copy cats
