Haven't had a big snowfall yet this winter, looks like a good one comin Tues-Wed

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

* ACCUMULATIONS... TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN EXCESS OF 8 INCHES IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AND IN EXCESS OF 18 INCHES OVER NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AS WELL AS NORTHWEST INDIANA. LOCAL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 24 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA... DEPENDING ON EXACTLY WHERE THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND SETS UP AND HOW PERSISTENT IT IS OVER ANY ONE LOCATION.

We've gotten a lot of small (1-3") accumulations and one that was maybe 8", just enough to be annoying.. It's been cold and snowy for a couple months, but it's time to make it worth it and measure it in feet

It all depends on quantity. Macon once had a "blizzard" of some areas getting up to 6" of snow. Most got less and it was melted off the roads by that afternoon. Ice will take trees and power lines down.

8-10 inches of snow between Monday and Wednesday



Looks like Cybercowboy will get mostly ice along I-44.

After Reading this thread, Checking the news. Spending a few hours getting snow of the porch and knocking down snow drifts so we have room for even more snow I have started to drink.

I made myself a Hot Toddy and used some of my dad's left over Canadian whiskey, the cheep crap.
