  • Cam Angle Sensor o-ring
  • Intake Gasket
  • Header to exhaust gasket
  • Need new clutch slave cylinder
  • Need new starter...because it's easy now.

We're waiting for 2 gaskets and 1 o-ring to get here on Wednesday, so not too much to do today. Got the alternator adjustment bracket installed, installed a new clutch slave cylinder and also got a new starter. New parts are simply too inexpensive to not replace now while they are so accessible. Starter was only $65 and the slave cylinder was $25.

I gave GWiz brand new interior door skins, but she had to fabricate new speaker screen covers. Went to Jo Anne Fabric and got speaker fabric and it worked out beautifully.

Toothless is a brand new $30,000 car, now 2 years old with only 9k on the clock. He needs no upgrades.

We made some more progress today, but did not take pictures. We went and bought new brake rotors, new struts, painted the springs and will have them pressed tomorrow. New brake pads, and clips. To date, I've spent over $3,500 on the car that she paid $2,200 for. We're painting the brake calipers red and the springs black. The parts from Mazda should be here tomorrow, so if we don't do it tomorrow, then we'll be mating the body with the drive train on Thursday.

It's too easy to go buy new shit when it's so accessible, and this will be her reliable college car for another 4 years. She will be taking Baymax to South Carolina for Cummins.

A few pics from today. Pulled all 4 wheels and had the new tires installed. Balanced the chassis on jackstands. GWiz pulled all of the calipers and we got 1.5 of them painted, I pulled all 4 struts/springs and got them painted. My GM tech will press the new struts in for me tomorrow for free (taking care of those who take care of you pays off in the long run). My race car is down there now for another alignment with the new slicks installed.
