A tip for corn cooks...
A correction in the video: It says to cook it for 3.5 minutes. That is too long; 1.5 minutes for 1 ear, 2.5 minutes for 2 ears, etc, is perfect. Also put the ears in a covered dish with about 1/4" on water in the dish.

Tried that once after seeing a similar vid. Corn came out ok but the husk didn't slide off quite as expected.
Maybe need to play around more with cook times to get it right. Scott

We've been doing this for awhile. It's great if you're doing just a few ears. If you were cooking for a big crowd, it would take too long.

We just grilled 2 ears for dinner tonight. It's still our hands down preferred method for cooking. Silk falls right off.
Had to nuke the larger one for an extra 1.5 minutes due to under cooking. |

We have done this for years. One key is where you make the cut ... if you don't get into the ear far enough, the husk will still have some silk attached at the end and won't slide off cleanly.

I just toss the corn on the grill husks and all. I don't bother soaking it. Grill it indirect until you can feel the corn is tender, 20 minutes or so. Then I take it off to the patio table, with a knife and cutting board. Cut the top inch off the stem end, and using some thin cotton gloves I just pull the corn right out of the husk. Super easy.
