My former mechanic had an old SUN machine ( for tune ups on points cars for the young pups ) He charged up a condenser and called one of the gas jockey's name. When the kid turned, Fred tossed the charged condenser and he caught in cupped hands. He jumped and yelled.

Fred was laughing so had tears were rolling down his face.

Us olde tyme TV techs used to do that to all the kids starting out in the trade....toss a 80 mfd 450 volt electrolytic at them with the wires looped around to bite hell outta them....

Oh, the shit we used to pull, one of the favorites was taking a old time color TV degaussing coil, and lean it up behind someones work bench, they put a TV on there, and that coil would crate a 60 hz magnetic field what would bend and distort the pix....drive the guy crazy, especially if he would walk away to get some coffee or something, and then we'd turn it off....

We used to take an old Model T vibrator coil and hooked it up so, if you touched the car, you got buzzed. Most fun was to pull up in back of someone who had their elbow out the window and just touch their bumper with yours.

The coil would work good for a flamethower exhuast too.

My son & I were working on a go cart once when he was about 10 or so. I taught him about spark and timing!
I told him to hold the end of the plug wire while I spun it over. He jumped, saw my holding my sides and fighting off the tears. He yelled, "That thing shocked me!" I managed to choke out, "I know!" He yelled, "You knew that would happen?" I calmly (as I could) replied, "How do you think I was supposed to see if it was getting fire?"
