What I did this weekend.

I live an hour from Summit Point as well (but in NoVa) and have run lots of events there. Probably the most cars I've seen wreck there was at the Colonial Challenge Cup HPDE on the Main Circuit that I did on April 13th of this year. It was 38-40 degrees and rained all fkin day long. A Ford GT, M3, and Subi Spec B all wrecked and badly (the latter 2 wrecked right in front of me - had to dodge them and their car parts).

I'm 5 hours from VIR (south) and Watkins Glen (north), and near other tracks as well (Pocono, NJMP, etc). This is a great place to be if you're a track rat.

I'm still picking grass out of the interior and under carriage from my little off road excursion on the chicane (1- 360° & 1-180°)

Had some heat issues with the A4, going to run a aftermarket cooler for the tranny and try again this fall.

Hopefully I will remember to take the video camera.

Yes, despite the fact that you never want to go that deep in a turn, that is the proper way to handle an "off". Your initial reaction is to try to turn the wheel more, which results in the car spinning into the wall. You have to commit to going off and keeping the car under control as opposed to trying to stay on track and spinning. If you can drop two off but keep two on track and control the car, you end up having a much better day.
