Although my hair is short, it's luxurious and thick. I wear a ball cap when I'm working outside when it's sunny out, especially in the Summer when it's hot. I have a 4x felt cowboy hat, but haven't worn it in over 10 years. They used to be de rigueur to wear to the rodeo, but I guess times change, and people got more casual.

Sometimes. When raining or I will be outside a lot.
I have an all-weather Mossy Oak fedora style for rain and also a felt one I have used yet. Lots of ball caps for junkyarding or working around the yard. If it's really sunny I have the big straw hat. I also have a couple of nice Stetson for occasional dress use.

If I go outside I usually grab one. Keeps my head warm when it's cold and the Sun out of my eyes when it's not cloudy.

Also prevents hot brass from welding itself to my upper eyelid when shooting a pistol and the ejected brass falls behind my glasses. If you've never experienced this you're in for quite a thrill but it's not something you'll want to repeat.

I can still remember my first hat 60 years ago. It was a Davey Crocket coonskin cap

I have been bald since my mid-20s and have worn a hat of one sort or another every day since. Pro tip: they won’t prevent skin cancer. I have had about a dozen mohs procedures on my scalp in the past dozen years or so. It’s become an annual ritual.

The MoCo caps have a mile high crown on them.

When I'm in the Jeep, with the top thrown back, I'll wear a hat. If it's raining out when I walk the dogs, I'll wear a hat.

Much of my adult life (18 - now), all my career fields required me of wearing a uniform, of course, hat included, I'm pretty indoctrinated now that even a hat is incumbent of me to wear with civilian clothes as well.
I wear mostly of the ball type design, Corvette hats, military affiliation, etc.

Some thinning of the hair makes me wear a hat on colder days, and I'm not a sun worshipper, so sunny days too.

I can't stand to wear sunglasses when golfing, so if it is sunny, I wear a hat on the course. If I am going to be out in direct sun all day (like at Corvettes at Carlisle), I will sometimes wear one. Other than that, never. That is the advantage of maintaining a full head of hair.

What do you wear?
That's a cabbie hat, they're good in every season but summer as they're usually wool.
