Default Why no one wants to 'Be all they can be' anymore

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...-difficulties/

Quote:
The recruiting difficulties come as the Army has begun discharging soldiers not complying with the Biden administration’s coronavirus vaccine mandate. More than 4,000 requested a religious exemption, but only two were granted, according to recent Army statistics. An additional 2,735 soldiers have refused.

The difficulties are also despite the Army last year launching animated recruitment advertisements that highlighted women, minorities, immigrants, and the LGBT community, as previously reported by Breitbart News.

Spoehr called the Army’s recruiting difficulties “a perfect storm, all hitting in 2022.”

First, he said fewer and fewer individuals even qualify to enlist. He said:

The biggest disqualifying factors are obesity, fitness and mental health issues. This should not come as a surprise. Obesity in America, including among youth, continues to increase. More and more youth are being treated for mental health issues and being prescribed psychotropic drugs for treatment. Current numbers coming out of the Pentagon are that the percentage of individuals qualified to enlist without a waiver has dropped from 29% in 2016 to less than 25% in 2022.

Second, he said fewer and fewer individuals are interested in joining the military, also in part thanks to the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal:

There are economic reasons for this, many companies are now offering more generous compensation packages that include college tuition to graduating high school seniors. There are lots of jobs available now. And over time American society has placed less and less value on the idea of public service. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan has also caused some to question our military and their competence.

Finally, he cited the perception that the military is becoming “woke.”

“There is a sense among the American public that the military is becoming increasingly political and that topics such as race and gender equity, critical race theory, and wokeism in general are commanding more attention, at the cost of readiness,” he said.

Public polls have backed up that assessment. Earlier this year, a Gallup poll showed that the public view of military leaders has dropped, and a Ronald Reagan Institute poll last year showed that high confidence in the military has dropped.

Spoehr added: “I should note that it is my assessment that for the first time ever, it may turn out that none of the military services will make their recruiting goals for 2022. The Air Force in particular is sounding the alarm.”

I was selected to be an Army recruiter for a little while and it sucked, a real career minefield. Probably a real horror show for them now.

"I believe that short of being shot at — you know, risking your life — that recruiting is the toughest job in the Army," says James Larsen, a retired senior policy analyst for the Army Recruiting Command.

Larsen says a recent study commissioned by the Army looked at the level of stress hormones in recruiters.

"Recruiters have the highest stress levels of any occupation in the United States — policemen, firemen, special operations, spies — you name it. "Head and shoulders — recruiters have the highest stress levels of anybody," Larsen says.

This garbage started festering in the 80s. It was the main reason that I retired in '84 with 21 years service. Could not see continuing to 30 years.

I am so glad I was medical retired back during the Obidiot years when this bullshit really got moving at full speed. My little brother is Active Air Guard (just pinned O-4) and the bullshit he tells me that goes on daily is astounding.

I'd rather pound my dick flat with a hammer than serve in this environment and these times.

I survived by the same standards I use to this day. I simply rarely associated with those I worked with. it can be very toxic.

During my 20 years" barrack living for was rare with living off base and such. When my day was over, the Army didn't exist. Never spent much time in the Officers Club or the let's go get a beer club with whoever.

Not that I didn't like any of them, but they seemed to live a 24hr a day military existence when we were outside of that scenario.

Never considered myself a "lifer" yet I was. Not a loner by any means, just associated with a different crowd after hours with neighbors and places and things to do taking me away from military life even for a short time but on a regular basis.

No way I would have joined if the military of the 70's was like the military of today. It's hard watching the democrats destroy our noble military along with everything else they touch.

I bet generals like Patton, Bradley. Macarthur, LeMay, Grant, Lee, and admirals like Nimitz, Hausley Spruance are rolling in their graves at the bullshit in the military today.

I sometimes wish I would've stayed in as I'd be retiring in 2 years but at the same time I'm so glad I got out. **** that nonsense.

I proudly served back in the late 70’s. I wouldn’t even consider risking it all now so some nose ring wearing hamplanets can safely sit back at home on their fat asses actively seeking to bring about the extinction of the heterosexual white man.

If i did go in I would probably end up fragging every goddam trannie I could.

During the 22 years I served, I didn't associate much with the Sailors who worked for me or even with the Chief's mess. When I left the ship or shore duty station, it was my time with my family and outside friends. I had a Corpsman who was my best friend on my last ship. He felt the same as I did about disassociating with the crowd when you left the ship. We kept in touch over the years but I think he is about the only one I've kept up with.
We moved away from the bases and really don't miss it.

I'm glad I retired when I did, I saw what was happening to the Navy and knew it was going to get ugly. The military schools were not teaching the basics to the new recruits. They were more interested in teaching them how not be stressed out and request a time out if you were being stressed. We couldn't raise our voices to get things done without being reprimanded. Just imaging taking a hit by a missile and asking little Johnny to please grab the fire hose to put out the fire. UGH...

The whole military has turned into a giant social experiment shit show. After doing 23 years, I knew when it was time to hit the door. I still work for the AF, and get the dumbass woke emails from leadership almost daily. 32 months, then retired for good. And also, the military pretty much does the dirty work for the rich elite. I knew that fact when I was still in, but that is another story.
