Seems like a local Chicago news outlet thinks it was a big fat hoax.

Chicago police today are questioning two persons of interest in the Jussie Smollett hate crime investigation, according to a department spokesperson. Both are African-American. Smollett, who police say “has been questioned throughout” their investigation is also being interrogated.

The persons of interest were arrested at O’Hare airport on Wednesday night, police said.

Smollett said in an interview aired on Good Morning America today that he believed the two persons of interest seen in the CPD images were the persons who attacked him. "I don’t have any doubt in my mind that that’s them. Never did."

TMZ reported that the persons of interest are an actor who has appeared with Smollett on Fox television’s Empire and a person who was traveling with the second actor. These individuals are believed to be the “potential persons of interest” who were seen in low-quality images released by Chicago police days after the alleged attack, according to a police spokesperson.

TMZ also reported that police used “rideshare and/or taxicab records” to identify the “persons of interest” and to track their movements on the night of the purported attack.

Given the developments in the case today, CWBChicago is sharing the following tip that we received over a week ago. Parallels being revealed today lend credibility to some of the source’s information.

If the source’s information turns out to be reasonably accurate, it will mean that Chicago police have known the identities of the persons of interest and believed the case to be staged for over a week.

Contacted for comment on details of the tip, Chicago Police Department chief spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi this afternoon said, "Can't confirm anything. We have active interviews underway."

Smollett this week turned over "heavily redacted" phone records from the night of the alleged attack. Guglielmi said the submitted documents did not meet the burden of a criminal investigation. Investigators already received Smollett's complete phone records via a subpoena served on his service provider, according to a source close quoted by CWBChicago on Feb. 4.

A source familiar with the records provided by the Empire star states that Smollett downloaded his phone activity into a spreadsheet and then deleted certain phone calls before handing over the records. “He did the [detectives’] job for them because then they only had to focus on the numbers he deleted.”

Apparently there are cameras all over that area, and interestingly enough he vanished from view for approximately 1 minute and reappeared with the string around his neck and Subway sandwich still in hand.

2 guys in MAGA hats walking around in a very liberal Chicago neighborhood at 2 o'clock in the morning on a dangerously cold minus 35 degrees polar vortex night...carrying a bottle of bleach and a noose. They just so happen to run into a B list actor and recognize him and attempt to commit a "lynching"

I'll be civilized about this and allow all of the facts to get sorted out by Law Enforcement, but it's an outrageous claim for sure.

The thing is this so called "Famous Person" is dumber than a bag of rocks but thinks he is much smarter that everyone else. I seriously doubt if he was not both black and has a serious case of sperm breath, by now he would be under arrest for making up a tall tail and wasting all sort of LEO time!

As soon as I heard about it I said Another case of someone claiming he was racially attacked. The majority of those things turn up that the "so called victim" did it looking for publicity or money. The worst part is usual they get a slap on the wrist for pulling stuff like this!

I said it was a hoax from the very beginning. The whole thing was just a little too convenient and packaged for display. I hope his dumb ass is prosecuted and spends time in jail. The liberal media was on this bag of crap like white on rice, but then again, they have an agenda of racism and hate.

The Chicago Police arrested 2 Nigerian brothers in connection with the crime. They confiscated bleach, tennis shoes and the clothesline (rope) that was used as the "noose" in the alleged attack. I believe two red hats were also confiscated. The clothesline (rope) was purchased at a local Ace Hardware Store (Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man) and they are on camera doing so.

Apparently they aren't being charged as they are fully cooperating with Law Enforcement. Evidently they told police that Smollett paid them $3500 each to assist in staging the attack.

The allegations were far fetched. Number one, who watches Empire? I doubt that a couple of Conservative white boy "MAGA" dudes are the target demographic...they wouldn't know who the **** this guy is.
