I have several friends in the food industry with both brick and mortar as well as food trucks.... I don't want to work that hard



But I do love cooking and admire anyone that chooses to be in the restaurant industry. You just cannot make enough money based on the hours you have to put into it.

Years ago, a friend of my boss' inherited his father's restaurant in Bethesda Md.....and expanded it to the entire strip mall....and had a bar/lounge section attached to it, so he/friends could set and chat all day/evening till closing, he would have to jump into things once in a while, and one time he tossed the chef out the back door, and took over the position for many hours....

sold it decades ago, but it was never reopened.....he is the guy who got me into collecting nautical antiques as he place was littered with them....it was a seefood restaurant......

There's a building in town that the wife wants to buy. She wants to open a restaurant because there are no real good restaurants in this shit-splat town.

Yes, I can cook, and I enjoy cooking.
Yes, I've worked in restaurants and know how hard the work can be.
I also know it can be fun.
However, I'm not sinking a ****tonne of cash I don't have into a restaurant venture anytime soon.
