Forwarded from: Anna
Subject: Update on Jim Jim is still a very sick man. He has infection in his heart, his kidneys stopped working and he has fluid in and around his lungs. His blood is being cleaned by dialysis and it is doing much better than even Monday. He was supposed to get a trach breathing apparatus and get a feeding tube directly to his stomach but the surgeon called yesterday to say that operation had to be postponed. Jim would have to be well enough to come off some of the blood pressure medicines and it is too risky to do that right now. He is on two medicines that are keeping his blood pressure up. He produces no urine. His fever is down and maybe normal. He is being kept sedated so that he doesn't try to talk or try to remove the tube down his throat. The doctors and nurses surrounding him have a vested interest in getting him better and they are so attentive and ever present. He is in the best hands possible. His brother's wife, Moira, has done a marvelous job of seeing to his every need and she has been of tremendous help. She has been my line of communication. I will be getting daily updates from her (I hope) and from Jim's doctors. Jim can hear and we all took turns talking to him and I will be speaking to him via the phone daily. I have a mountain of work taking over the house and the bills. Luckily we have Blue Cross/Blue Shield but they will cover only about 80% of the thousands and thousands of dollars to be paid. I'll make it though one way or another. Please pray for him. He is in so much trouble. |

JAMES T. Jxxxx, JR., PhD 1948-2020 Jim J, named after his father who was a WW II fighter pilot, graduated with a Doctorate in Physics from the American University (AU) in Washington, DC, and spent his 33-year career employed by several Federal contractors; he often worked for top secret agencies such as the CIA and the NSA on projects where employees were not permitted to know the last names of fellow workers. It was at AU where he met and tutored his future wife, Anna Allen L. Jim retired from Northrop-Grumman in 2009 and spent his retirement years in computer analysis and design. Jim was a long-time member of the Kensington, Maryland Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and ran the church's computer system. In 2017 he and Anna sold their Chevy Chase home and moved to a spacious manor house on a rural five-acre estate in the Shenandoah Valley outside of Winchester, Virginia. At the time of Jim's untimely death, he had just installed a massive solar panel array on the property and was finishing construction of large race-car garage. Donations may be given to the SPCA, the National Rifle Association, and the Republican Party. The above was sent at 930 last night.....no wonder he never talked about his work..... |

Sorry to hear this. Every year, 72 years old sounds younger and younger. He does sound like he was an interesting and intelligent dude. May he rest in peace.

So there was this Esso station we all hung at, it used to have 3-4 islands to it, but they widened the road, so it was cut down to just one island, but on a major drag and only one on that side of the street, it remained open/profitable, and had 3 work bays.....and parking...so the hang out joint was popular with us hotrodders in the evenings/weekends..... SO, back in HS, Larry and Anna/Jim's wife dated a bit, but life went on with college and a son for Anna..... Any yawl on CForum some years ago might remember a guy named Don, I forget the last name, he was into airplanes and flipping all over Alaska....well Anna's son outta kolledge wanted flying lessons, so he went to flight school and got his commercial pilot's license.....and moved to Alaska as a bush pilot and at age 24 dropped off some passengers up at Prudhoe Bay, and on way back through mountain passes, missed the last turn and hit the mountain at 130 mph......they dug him off the following spring..... So after the funeral some 27 years ago, Larry and Anna continued on racing SCCA at Summit Point Race Track.....where the Secret Service does lots of training, along with other .gov agencies......Anna totalled her 911 Porsche there.....as well as went clean over the top of another open race car just missing the guy's helmet......but with advancing time, the outright enthusiasm for the sport declined somewhat..... now this, taking out the main support element, leaving Larry and Anna now living out in the country, and....... |
