Doctor should have used some Loctite.

The 'doctor' should give himself a bullet assisted lead implant. By time I filed the lawsuit against him he'd already been run out of the state of Florida, and was practicing in Vegas.

If they're attaching without incident, they will move. The nerves will have to reattach themselves and learn all over again. As I understand it, you will never have full function of and sensitivity in your fingers. What does your doctor say? 50% of use and sensitivity?

They gave me a choice of pins or plates. With the plates they said I'd have to schedule surgery again as the plates need to come out after the bone heals.

The wires were interesting.
They stuck a real long needle that could bend in my wrist in different locations and froze my whole hand.
They then put my hand in a clamp that had 2 pins in it that clamped on one part of the bone and he then proceeded to pull the other part of the bone until it was set. I had a boxers break they called it and one of the bones was overlapping the other by 1/4" and broke through the skin.

He then had a drill with a hole in the bit that had a wire passing through and drilled 3 holes in my hand to hold the bones in place.
THey then wrapped it in a bandage and I was good to go.

3 weeks later they removed the pins.
I've got a 9" plate and 13 screws still in my right ankle (1998) and a 6" plate and 6 screws in my left (2000). My left is getting reasonably arthritic and the screw heads on each side produce pain when I wear boots so I'm thinking of having the hardware out. Stay tuned for pics if I do.

Holy Hell! For less than a month, that looks a LOT better.
Advances in med/tech are incredible.

Makes you appreciate what your hand looks like compared to what it would have looked like had it happened 30 years ago.

Gotcha; was going off the date of your first post.
Damn fast healing for the amount of damage that was done.
