Most Florida counties do NOT screw around, our Polk County sheriff's department shot a cop-killer 68 times - when asked "why shoot the perp that many times ?" Sheriff Grady Judd says, "Because we ran out of bullets". Love the guy.

We had a police involved shooting across the street from the sports bar I go to a few months ago. My friends and I watched it go down. they must have pumped at least 20 rounds into the car and definitely pulled out a dead perp who was wanted for a murder charge further south.

Swift and painful punishment is an effective deterrent. Add in a well armed citizenry and you reduce crime dramatically.
