Taken on its own, its probably less harmful than alcohol.

My truck is a 2021. And yes the tail lights have BLIS and I'm sure that is a big part of the cost.

Initially my selling dealer quoted me $1,800 for the tail light installed. Kinda pizzed me a little whan I asked for a parts/labor breakdown and he was reluctant but did tell me the light was $1,100. (BTW, I paid $700 included shipping for the part)

It took me all of 5 minutes to do the install.

Talk about forming a market for China......

and just use common LED lights in theirs.......

BTW they sell standard base dual 'filament' LED replacement bulbs looks like a old turn signal bulb.....but bright as hell, and so I removed the bulb from some seemingly rare junkyard ~ 2" tall and 5" wide car and so have the actual bulb I easily cut outta the large glass and put in LED lights, and that's what is in the '72 vette now.....high and lo beams...

I don’t know that the bulbs are replaceable in the newer vehicles. Moot in my case because I busted the plastic housing.
