It has become very obvious that the only way we can get this virus under control is to release prisoners. This whole mess could have been over long ago if we had just let them go back in January.

Many Mayors and Governors were slow to realize that we needed to set them free. I only hope it isn't too late.

Engineering is just blah for her...she'd prefer to consult and build software.

Let's see where this goes...

Just read a headline that the class of 2020 was about to enter the most robust market in 50 years, and now they are faced with comparing themselves with their peers and it may take a decade for them to overcome the income disadvantage.

I think GWiz will be fine, but she's been conditioned to go above and beyond. Nice that she's got a guaranteed fallback position. Hell, 5 months with GWiz at home is priceless for Mr. and Mrs. Wiz when she's been gone for 4 years.
Welcome to the rat race. She will be fine though. Her resume will speak for itself and when she get's in front of the panel interview, her voice will secure it.

I've been fighting the income disparity, but finally getting traction. I don't think I'll ever be able to break that ceiling in a corporate setting as there is always someone willing to do it cheaper. Lots of competition. If she can work for herself or the family business there will be no income rat race.

Once this Covid deal starts to pass, I'm making adjustments to get back to being self empoyed.

It is definitely a last resort, and I am surprise dhow little we are hearing about it...but people can tap their 401k now without penalty.

One provision lets investors of any age take as much as $100,000 from retirement accounts this year without paying an early withdrawal penalty. They also can avoid taxes on the withdrawal if the money is put back in the account within three years. If it can’t be returned, taxes can be paid over three years.

Business as usual in Nebraska.
No lock-down yet.

I quit looking at mine, not going to move it, so, whatever.

My FA had been trying to convince us to move more of our $$ out of low interest (1.5%) money market savings and CD's into the market. SO freaking glad we told him no.

We are well diversified, so it sucks to lose some money but could be SO much worse.

Not to sounds like a total biotch, but there are some I have NO sympathy for.

Have a few personal friends that have massive house, luxury cars, all their kids always have the latest iphone, designer clothes, they are always taking high end vacations. These fuggers spend EVERY penny that they make and never put back for "rainy days". Let it be understood, these folks make some serious bank. Well, guess what asshat>> the monsoon is upon us, so I'm not shedding a tear that they were living the dream without a plan.

I am not speaking of those that are is a chitty position, due to absolutely no fault of their own.

Would it be fair to saw, if we had to go back to pioneer times lifestyles, so many of these soft primadonnas would be screwed?

I know more than a few that make good money but paycheck to paycheck never saving a dime. Totally screwed now of their own doing and I have zero sympathy for them.
Of course they are all heavily in debt with both loans and credit card debt.
