Default what does it take to buy a fricken truck?
cliff's - been trying to buy a raptor. need to order one. saleshole been dickin around for 3 weeks at least. fleet mgr calls me today and says not sure if he can order one for retail.

other dealership wants sticker plus to order, f that.

any ford dealers around that can hook a brutha up? lease on current truck up in a couple months. need to get one ordered quick

I work with a guy who has a fairly new one, he may be wanting to sell due to buyers remorse. I think he will be selling it before he leaves to work fire season in the southwest.

Nothing is worth MSRP. Nothing.

12% would put a loaded Raptor at dealer invoice (no, not the phony invoice, the ACTUAL dealer invoice).

Not gonna happen right now on Raptors. Dealers ain't giving them away.

...and to the OP, no the fleet manager cannot order one as a fleet order, it must be ordered retail and the dealer must have the allocation from Ford.

Are you calling the invoice, the document that list the A, & X plan price and list the hold back info?

I agree, I do not pay MSRP ever.

Yes, a true Ford factory invoice has all that info listed at the bottom.

Forget holdback, no dealer I know will share the holdback on a hot unit.

A regular F150 maybe... but not a Raptor.

no disrespect, but...

If I wanted a Raptor...I mean really wanted a Raptor...there would be one in my driveway...in a few days...probably in my desired color & equipment...

don't let one dealer play hard to get...do a regional or national search...buy the Raptor of your choice.

Done.

btw...I think the Raptor is cool...real cool...please buy one and post pics.

I agree it may not be worth retail, but if the unit is hard to get, that might be what a buyer would have to pay to get one, especially with a lease coming due. Back when I worked in the Ford business the Mustang GT was the hot thing to get (2005-06 models) especially if it was a hand-shaker. I had no problem asking for and getting MSRP when they were in short supply. I don't know if it is different now, but back then not all dealers were SVT dealers which could also limit the number of dealers to shop.

I would recommend to the OP to keep calling every dealer until you find one that seems on the ball. When a unit is hard to get salesmen and even managers can get lazy and not want to bother trying to get one if they think they won't be able to. I sold plenty of rigs to out of state buyers because of just that. It will probably take longer than two months to have one built if you were to order it. You could probably extend your current lease for a few months if it is through FMCC if you needed to, but Ford Credit may have changed those rules since I have been out of the business.
