We're close in age. You are definitely older, so maybe it's a generational thing, but I'm all about stealth and mean. All 6 of my Corvettes have been black, and every one I purchase hence forth will be black. I prefer the black wheels like on my 2021.

My favs: '57, '68-'72, any C6, any C8.

I was thinking about buying a C8 a year or so ago, but I've got too many things going on now (like maybe moving?) so it's off the table for now anyway.

Sad you didn't pull the trigger on the C8. I flipping LOVE my '21. It is so much of a step forward from the C6/C7. While I love racing my C8, I cannot wait to get my C8 Z06. Eray is a neat trick, but it's not me.

Take Harley-Davidson for example. Chrome is not just out, it's all the way out.

Chrome pieces/parts are less expensive than black these days. Wasn't all that long ago chrome add-ons were quite a bit more than black.

I like the chrome wheels on my C-7 but it came that way, bought it new off the showroom floor.
Overall,I prefer a mag wheel look.

By '09, the valve train was supposed to have been addressed. I sent the heads from my '08 out to a race shop, and had everything upgraded, but alas, that bitch blew up twice. Once on bone stock engine, and once on the monster engine. Both died at 7K rpm...with 3.73 gears. Pretty sure the mechanical over revving due to the gear ratio change was the culprit.

I had put over 65,000 miles on my '09 Z06, including track time (both Talladega tracks), in the 5 years that I had it. No engine issues at all.
