When we built our home (which we have sold) in 1994 we had a two person Jacuzzi tub put in as well as a shower in our bathroom. In 24 years there if the tub was used 8 times it was a lot ! And we had to put in an 80 gallon water heater as per code.....ugh !

I will shower AFTER a bathing, every time!

Here in Virginia, if you get a house with a large bathtub a 75 gallon water heater is required. My previous two houses have had this. My current house has two water heaters. Three, if you count the one in the main barn.

I have two 50 gals water heaters. They have since been separated or zoned….. 1-kids area/kitchen…..2-master bathroom.

Thing is the electric 50’s can’t recover quickly enough using the whirlpool. I mean it’s not horrible but…. Our walk in shower with 4 heads can use up some hot water too…I put small shut offs on each.

I'm in VA and wish they would have installed a bigger water heater in my house. We have a huge jetted tub in the MBR and a regular tub in the guest bathroom, but only a 60 gallon water heater in the attic.

I had a house built in Ashburn way back in 1992 and asked the builder why they were installing a 75 gallon water heater. He said they had to because of the "garden tub" in the master bathroom.

Electric water heaters are very limited. I have a 50 gallon indirect water heater powered by a 1" diameter loop from my 120,000 BTH/hr boiler. I forget the first hour rating but it's around 200 gallons. My master shower can flow up to 6.5gpm and so far, so doing the math that's 30 minutes. We have never run out of hot water.

owned 3 homes in the last two years. I had a house in MN and one in AZ. Sold them both moved home to North Dakota. All 3 had jacuzzi tubs and one other tub. In the AZ place we had planned to remove it and put in a very large walk in shower. The people who bought it from us did just that right away looks great.

In the current ND house we already have a very large shower with 3 shower heats and steam .... but also has a whirlpool tub. We might pull the tub and make a place for wifey to sit and do her hair, makeup etc. Never use tubs ...

We do have another one in the guest room upstairs if needed.

Exactly, which is why you shower first, then soak in the tub

No adult bathes in a bathtub to get clean. It is a luxury for other endeavors.

People bathe kids in the bath because they know how hard it is to get a dog in the shower.
