40 years of good driving
On the way home my wife got pulled over in the great communist wealth of VA for 10 over. Clean record, never been warned even and they gave her the ticket. He was nice enough to tell her all about the speed traps coming up.

Where in VA was this? There are several well documented speed traps near the NC border. We went down to Myrtle in August and my daughters were in another car somewhere behind us and she got a ticket for 81 in a 65. It was completely bogus. She wasn't going that fast. My wife and her made the 3 hour drive an appeared in court. The judge reduced it to "defective equipment" - speedometer. Interestingly, it looked like everyone there was ticketed for 81MPH. I think the judge knew it was a bogus speed trap deal and reduced everyone who had a good record. That was down in Emporia, VA. I got a ticket for no front tag going down 81 close to the border. I think they look for people less likely to appear in court and just pay the fine.

Yeah it really is the pits. The fine will come out of her allowance, no chotsky for a month. She is still stewing about it and refused to mail the payment in early. It is not due until Dec 10th and she wants to wait. I told her check to see if IN and VA are reciprocal states and if they are not, don't send the money and say the heck with it.

The Greensville Trap !
I grew up there and the county has an agreement with the state to sit/patrol I95 for the appox. 25 mile stretch. Earns the Co, over 2 mill. a year ! They will allow you 6-7 over and thats about it...if that
