Raced the "MiniVan" and won a raffle too. :)

I finished my 2-day Extreme autocross school today. I absolutely devoured my race tires in the Z06 yesterday, and figured Marcus would not be too pleased if I mounted his brand new Hoosiers, so I took the "MiniVan".

Yes, the 2006 feels like a MiniVan compared to the Z06. I did pretty well and learned a few things this weekend. I'm pretty sure I was very close to the fastest car out there today. Yesterday, the Z06 was the fastest by a LARGE margin. I did get beat by Tim Aro (school founder) by 7/100ths of a second. I beat him by a quarter second today in the MiniVan. He forgot how to drive an automatic.

I thought this was a pretty cool angle.

Oh yeah, they held a "pull the name out of the hat" at the end of the school and I won a 20% off coupon when I buy 4 Hoosiers! That's $320.

Actually, those Hankooks are still in pretty good shape. The only wear on the tires are on the extreme outside shoulders. PLENTY of regular tread left otherwise. I had no choice, and these tires are only a few months old, but the are FAR superior to the Goodyear runflats that come stock on the car.

Since they are only $800/set for the C6, AND it rained pretty heavily today at the end of the day, taking the '06 was a wise decision. $800 doesn't even buy me two Hoosiers for the rear of the Z06.

Is the camera mounted above cone height? Some of them looked pretty close.

Yes, when I mounted the camera, I grabbed a cone from the course and placed it underneath it. I actually had about 3 inches to spare. Seeing how close you are on the passenger side is some good feedback. Most of those cones were extremely close to the tires. I hit the one cone, but it actually stayed standing.

This car is 3 inches narrower than the Z06, so it was a little easier to place near the cones.
