While I agree 100% with your idea that all kinds of government are trying to implement this as fast as possible, I have my doubts they will succeed. Primarily because I believe that if you really try to take away physical currency, you are going to have to deal with shit loads of people starving in the streets. Like, maybe a quarter of the population.

I know that population reduction is popular with that same crowd, so they think nothing of it, and the media will do the best they can to hide the millions of corpses on the streets each day, but I think this will prevent the long-term success of this plan.

At the end of the day, the important things haven't changed since the French Revolution. There are so many more peasants than there are governors, such that when the masses revolt, they will win. They will win ugly, just like they have throughout history, but they will win. I know people will say "but, but, but, technology", but technology won't mean shit when there is no more food to eat, no more bullets to shoot, no more gasoline to run their cars, boats, helicopters and private jets, etc.

Please note that I said I had "no clue" whether it would happen or not.

I agree with your points, but predicting (anything, really) that the peasants will win is risky. The Soviet Union lasted around 70 years. Cuba has been full-commie for over 60 years, China is pushing 75 years. How many generations of peasants have Cuba and China had, and they still live in prison states.

Covid showed us one important thing, that the politicians now know too: The vast, vast majority of Americans are gullible enough, soft enough, and ignorant enough to do what they're told (whether they're armed or not).

They don't even know what liberty is -- they cannot define it -- so they don't know that's its gradually being taken away, which is how it usually happens.

My best buddy, and many other people I know, think all will be good if they can find work-arounds for tyranny. They didn't word it like that but I did, hopefully to wake them up. Growing your own food/livestock, bartering, etc. etc. yeah it all sounds great, "**** the government."

What if DC declares all foods as government property, as Stalin did? In the Ukraine, people were jailed for having secret stores of grain that they had picked up in the fields AFTER they were harvested. They "stole" government property.

I am surrounded by woods that are full of deer, squirrels, and other animals that I don't want to eat. Going to the supermarket for a half-hour is far superior, for me anyway. Growing and storing enough vegetables to last most of the year would be a nearly full-time job. How many families want to do that? Again, the supermarket is the superior option for most of us assuming we have spendable money.

My mother grew up on what we would call today a "subsistence farm," and wanted NO PART of ever going back to it and she never had to.

But I am a born pessimist about nearly everything in life, but that's just who I am. I wish I was more optimistic.
