I'm going, have not made reservations at HI in Dover yet but will. It looks like about 6 or 8 Beachcombers are going from the meeting last week.

Oh yeah? Are you just driving up for the day then? I don't know how far away you are from there.

It's about a 3-3 1/2 hour trip to AC from here, roughly 225 miles. I get off work at 7:00, it starts at 12:00, plenty of time for a day trip.

I saw this over on CF. I thought I would post it here in case you guys miss it.

It looks like the high speed run is over.

[Toys for Tots] Important Update – Must Read!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO NOT GO TO THE FARLEY PLAZA TO MEET. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THE FARLEY PLAZA TO MEET.

The members of the Corvette Community have really outdone themselves this year. The registration for this year’s Toys for Tots is growing. Add to this a weather forecast showing Sunny and 70, and you can see that this is shaping up to be a banner year for the event and a great result for the Marines and the children.

With great success there are also growing pains. After a planning meeting today it has been determined that we have out grown the Farley Plaza staging area. Please come directly to the Sandcastle Baseball Stadium on Albany Ave (the same place as last year). Just stay on the Atlantic City Expressway (you are responsible for your own tolls) and go past the Farley Plaza rest area. Go straight for 19 miles to Exit 2. You’ll see many blue and white road signs that say Kerbeck Exit 2. Take Exit 2 which automatically puts you on the Black Horse Pike heading east. Go about 2 miles straight and you’ll see the stadium on the left and the police to help guide you in. The event will start at 12:00 noon but you are welcome to arrive earlier. Buckle up, drive safely and observe the rules of the road.

Once at the stadium, you will be entertained by a live band while getting to meet Corvette Racing legend Johnny O’Connell. Lunch will be provided by Kerbeck as well as door prizes, trophies and guest speakers. A trolley will also be available to take you back and forth across the street to see the Kerbeck Heritage Collection of Corvettes and GM Muscle Cars.

All attendees will receive a gift bag at the event which includes a dash plaque to commemorate the event, a Johnny O’Connell Hero Card that’s perfect for autographing, special offers from Atlantic City Casinos and more!

Please remember that all toys should be new, unopened and unwrapped. If the toy requires batteries, please purchase them and tape them to the outside of the box.

We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday and thanks again for supporting the US Marine Corps Reserve League Toys for Tots!

If you have any questions or need further assistance with directions, please contact Dave Salvatore at 877-537-2325.

Losing the fun run will take a lot of the fun out of it, BUT...it is still a great chance to network with other Corvette clubs and owners, and well as a high attendance also means more Toys for the kids, which is what this event is all about.

....plus if I am not able to go and have fun this year, why should anyone else.

Nope. I was only in it for the run and as far as donating goes, I'd rather do that locally.
