Once more, the investment in the grandchildren pays off.
We went to visit the grandson this past weekend for his daughter's 3rd birthday.
Just before we left he called me and asked if I would like to trade my Honda EU2000 generator for his EU3000. This is basically trading a $1K generator for a $2K generator. He's very well off financially now and in his younger years we helped him out a number of times, so he's returning the favor. He's buying a larger one for his house. Now I've got a big enough generator to make it worthwhile to have an electrician set it up to run directly into my breaker panel instead of having extension cords running all over the place. And this one has an electric start and is on wheels, so the wife will be able to handle it if I'm not there. It better be on wheels, it weighs 89 lbs. He said my smaller one will suit his needs for camping and tailgate parties and is much more portable. It can be lifted with one hand. Bring on the power outages, I'm ready. |
