Growing up with stewed tomatoes and canned tomatoes from the garden almost every meal, bet it was 10 years before could choke a tomato down on a sammich or even use ketchup.. So I'm going with #84 on my list.

Growing up in the country, we grew and ate a lot of maters. I like them pretty much any time. A couple of slices of a homegrown mater, salt, pepper, Duke's mayo, a slice of American cheese, on white bread. Holy mother of all that is good, it doesn't get any better than that.

lotta customers/employees talk about eating it raw on the boat after catching them on our big trips. I'm pretty open and eat most anything so I'd probably like it. Most of the Tuna I eat is at Subway mixed with mayo

Try a crying mator! A slice of sweet onion with a slice of tomato on it salt and pepper then wait at least 20 minutes before eating.

I've diced red onion and mixed it with the Italian dressing and mator. Sometimes cucumber also. Never both

yeah, umm that's not a tuna steak. grab a bag of frozen tuna steaks next time at Costco. should be about fifteen bucks for three or four pieces. thaw and sear or grille. try it along side of something else so if you don't like it you still have a meal. its simple to cook and pretty dang good. even you should be able to handle the cooking. looking forward to the raazor cooking thread soon.

once you decide you like it, then you can try some fresh steaks in lieu of the cheaper frozen stuff.

like two minutes per side on the grill or less?

What do you season them with?

Wouldn't be on my list because I would never just eat a tomato, but I love tomatoes.

Love a toasted tomato sammich or a caprese salad.

Best garnish for burgers, hot dogs, sammiches, whatever; cherry or grape tomatoes are awesome in salads.

good call. If I'm going to try a tomato sammy, it has to be toasted or the bread will fall apart

Tuna steaks are pink in color. A lot depends on the heat but the easiest way is throw them on and watch the sides. As the side starts to tan it's cooking through. I'll go a quarter inch of tan then flip but I like it pretty raw inside.

I'll rub with some olive oil then simple salt and pepper. For dipping I'll use wasabi, or peppery pineapple glaze, or if an app just slice thin and dip in soy.
