Anyone else notice businesses charging for CC use ?

Is this any different than placing utility charge, or rent adjustment charge? Just do business with cards, or not.

Kind of my thought-why make a big deal unless you are scared that raising your base rate would scare off business. But then again, it's nice to know the reason and a way to get things cheaper. You look at cash discount gas stations and they are always packed.

Maybe it's this victim complex pandemic, businesses scapegoating some other evil entity as the reason for their rising prices. Businesses are the victim, you see, you can't be mad at them for rising prices and they think customers are too dumb to see the cost was always in the price and the business is double dipping the excuse of card fees.

Similar to the DC thing I posted earlier, businesses want to be honest about where the price increase comes from.

Take hotel costs. You get a deal on expedia for $100 a night stay. You check out and it's $135. The invoice will show state, city, county, and entertainment taxes. So I think it's good business to show people where the actual fees comes from. Maybe it will make them think next time something comes up for a vote.

I told our local diner that if they just raised each item 5 to 10 cents each they would probably make more $ then the 3.5% and not piss customers off.
Their response was ...well we would have to change the menu often then....
